A medium day...
Jul. 13th, 2011 03:31 pmIt's too hot here today for me, but it is not nearly hot enough for everyone else in town and compared to most of the rest of the country, it's frigidville. Weather is not winning an Oscar this year, I don't think.
Work is fine - some of it is oh so annoying and some of it is not at all and almost interesting and all of it pays well and does not requirement to talk to people or go anywhere so I'm happy.
I'm done for the day but updating my work computer which is always such a dicey deal. I hate to do it in the mornings because I hate to delay work. I hate to do it after work because if there is a problem, it fucks up my entire evening. So I'm doing it now with fingers crossed.
My Mozy backup keeps sending me an email saying that it cannot back up one of my files because the settings are wrong. I, long ago, changed the settings to what they tell me to and none of the computers running Mozy report anything but 100% successful backups so someone's got a screw loose somewhere.
I really do hate software.
The pile drivers are driving. Earlier today they were driving so hard that I could feel it. Now it's just a rhythmic pounding. No biggie.
My neighbors, Ann and Ron, are back from Italy and they had a great time and are full of pep and vinegar. They said they were the only people they saw and/or traveled with who had no cellphones. "No one could believe that we didn't, never have, and don't want one - it got to be really funny after a while." They popped in to say hi and thanks for taking in the mail and then went on to the grocery store to get provisions. Travis was delighted to see them both and showed them. They left for the grocery covered in cat hair.
No baseball again tonight but I have plenty of good TV to keep me knitting.
