The Mariners are just about to win their THIRD game in a row. Poor Oakland (who have lost all three) must be so embarrassed.

My new bifocals should be here any day now and I am ready. I'm so tired of eyeglass toggle.

My brother and sister-in-law are coming here two weeks from today. They are going to spend the night here and then take my car up Thursday morning to see my sister and then come back to spend Friday night and Saturday with me and home on Sunday. It will be fun to see the even if only for that tiny bit.
I actually do see them every day on their webcam but it will be fun to be able to visit. I have created my list o' eating options - peppered, as usual, with my favs. It's also fun to have people who have to eat with you :). I hope I'm finally going to get to have dinner at the fondu place (if I can persuade them to pick that one on the list).

I keep my brother's webcam open in a browser window all day. I can watch them come and go through the workshop and hear the goings on. I can't hear most details of conversations - sometimes I can if they are close enough to the microphone but mostly it's background noise which is nice. Their oldest dog, Bella, 'works' at the shop. Her job is to bark. She barks and then someone admonishes 'Bella!' and she's good for a while til next time, it's a rhythm.
But, the funniest thing is that about twice a day - sometimes more, sometimes less, I hear the sound of a Windows computer booting up. Invariably, I look at my own computers to see which one is the culprit and only then realize it's the webcam.
Travis hates it when they vacuum.

Work is good. We're now in the mostly fit and finish part of the project. We're not getting bugs anymore that call to build out 20 pages. Now they are built one page here, fix this page there. So I can generally pound through a bunch of them in a day and it makes me feel very productive. This morning I started out with 28 in my queue and now there are 11.

I just realized that the payment I sent in for my head surgery has never been posted. The snail invoice offered the option of a credit card number so I put my Discover card (cash back!) info on it and mailed it back. Thanks to LJ, I can see it was on July 19. More than 2 weeks ago. Ugh.
I dug through my Discover Card data - not there. I could have sworn I had a big charge - oh, wait, that was the bifocals. Head surgery not there. That's a $639.82 bill that I thought I paid and did not. That's a couple of levels of ugh.
I call the click office. Their telephone tree/hold system was clearly the beta version in the 80's! Finally, however, I get a real person and she is crisp as good bacon. It took her less than a minute to nail the problem. It takes a month for the credit card payment to get to the card.
Holy crap on a stick. Services acquired on 5/11. Bill arrives on 7/18. Payment not collected for a month? If I were a deadbeat or even slow, I could probably drag this out for years before anyone ever noticed. Hell of a way to run a railroad.

Seriously, the Mariners just won! Wow.
henare told me this morning that when I mention baseball, he thinks Lucy and Charlie Brown and the football. I feel like Charlie Brown really almost kicked it today!
