Whew what a day!
Aug. 20th, 2011 04:22 pmMy brother and sister-in-law got here just after 9 and after some coffee, Dana again mentioned the hair cutting thing so we decided why the hell not?! I had scoped out Rudy's Babershop online and I figured the one in Fremont was our best bet for a bunch of reasons and we headed out.
We stopped at that nice Ballard Trader Joe's cause Dana had never been in one and Bill had not been in one in years. Then on to Rudy's. It's a fun place with just the nicest people. We put our names down and they said 20 minutes. We both got really really nice hair cuts. (I'm not pissed because the Fremont Rudy's is not the handiest to go on a regular basis but I sure did like Lauren who did my cut so now I have to go back. Sigh.)
We then walked around and looked for lunch and ended up in Blue C Sushi which was perfect for us. Then some more walking around and then we decided to head on home. This turned out to be a bit of an issue.
I'd forgotten that the major through town thoroughfare was closed going south and the alternate routes were gummed up with HempFest 2011 and some event we could not even identify but had tons of people and massive traffic.
We finally made it home and the whole trip was only an hour - usually it would be 15-20 mins but it felt like it was 5 hours. Sitting in a car in the hot sun will do that and we sat a lot.
In 3 hours we need to be back across town for our dinner reservations - that should be interesting. There is a football game in the stadium across the three tonight but I think that might not hurt us too much since we'll be trying to get the other way.
We got their boarding passes printed out and now they are napping which probably won't last long cause the football band just started playing below my terrace. I was right, they are up.
Time for the next whatever!
