Kitty Hijinks

susandennisMy two cats are hilarious tonight. I don't know the genesis of the drama but watching the happenings is really fun - kind of like watching a hangover kind of movie in a language you don't understand.
I didn't notice anything until just before dinner tonight. When I got up and said the magic words 'dinner anyone?' Betty crawled out of one of the fish beds. I hadn't even seen her in there. Neither of them have used those beds much recently so I was kind of surprised.
As usual, I spooned out a small amount of canned cat food onto two plates and set them down in the usual spots - about 2 feet apart.
Betty scarfed down her share and licked the plate. Then she went over to Travis's dish and nosed him out of the way so she could eat his dinner. This is not that unusual but usually he gives up immediately.
You could carve 2.5 Bettys out of Travis. Watching her skooch under him to steal his food is just funny.
Tonight he kept trying get his dish back but ultimately failed. She finished up his dinner completely. Maybe his self esteem is bruised.
After dinner, Better was licking my dinner plate in the kitchen which she gets to do every night. Travis, meantime, took up residence in the same fish house she had been in.
She came out from the kitchen and went right to the door of that fish house. Now, keep in mind there are two fish houses. But this was clearly not about real estate.
I think messages were exchanged. Travis bolted right out of the fish house and went to the other end of the house. Betty sniffed around and finally took up residence in the coveted fish house again.
Travis is here by the computer. I have no idea what is next.
