Home, home again
Sep. 9th, 2011 05:30 pmMy Friday adventures are complete and were fun.
I started off at a pool up in the north end of town for an aqua jog class. I got there early and the pool was stuffed with about 90 10 year olds. Mayhem does not begin to cover it. Magically, however, they disappeared at noon and were replaced with the cast of the movie Cocoon. This time there were as many old men as old ladies. The men - all but one - spent the hour doing laps and the women - all but one - did the class. It was fun and interesting.
Again, lovely to work out with a mirror. Also lovely to be able to free lance a little. Some of the women spent the class half working out and half catching up with each other. The one guy in the class stayed close to the agenda so I kind of stuck by him and used him for motivation.
None of it was too difficult. An hour's worth is really tiring. At the end of the hour I am so grateful to be done but while I'm drying off, I'm planning when I can do my next class. I feel so refreshed after.
I might go again tomorrow. I'm kind of thinking of treadmill Monday/Wednesday/Friday and swimming on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday maybe.
After swimming I went up to this place called Creation Station which is a very strange little place that is really such a cool idea. It's crammed with surplus stuff - plastics, fabrics, tile, glass, and then felt and stickers and pipe cleaners. There's also a 'lab' in the back where they host parties.
The surplus stuff is kind of like what is in the back of Archie McFee's - a lot of just random stuff in bulk.
It was fun to go through and I did get a couple of things... like a used tennis ball which I have wanted for a while for back massages.
Then home. Note to self: Make sure your Friday adventures end before you, once again, land yourself north of town at 3 pm or later. Back to back traffic for miles - last week it was on 99 this week on I-5. If I need to go north, I'll make sure to get back here before lunch on Fridays.
I did get the car filled again... it only holds 8 gallons total so a fill up is, happily, not huge - doesn't take long, doesn't cost that much. After 2 fill ups, I'm not getting 29+MPG.
Pizza for dinner - Chef Anita pizza.
The bear knitting with baseball and last night's Project Runway.
