Higher, Hotter Ground
Sep. 10th, 2011 05:34 pmI keep telling myself it isn't really all that hot and finally I have decided that I am a lying sack of shit. I am not going out again until at least Monday. I was going to go swim tomorrow and probably have brunch somewhere. Nope. I'm staying right here, right in front of my air conditioner.
However, my outing today was a good one, at least until the sweaty end.
machupicchu and I went to see Higher Ground and it was really amazing. It's one of those movies that I will be thinking about for a long time to come.
It does not appear as if there is any CD of the soundtrack or MP3's. Very much a shame as the music was really great.
Before the movie, we had lunch at the Rusty Pelican (same place I went last Sunday and the Sunday before that)... it was, once again, delicious and lovely. I cannot believe it took me 20 years to find that joint.
Just saw the forecast and it looks like I can go out again on Tuesday. Ok, fine. I'm good til then. Got food, got yarn, got entertainment. I have to work on Monday anyway so all will be okdokey.
---
I stopped at the grocery store on the way home to pick up some vinegar. One of the down sides of loft living is food smell. There is no where for cooking smells to go. Chef Anita creates amazing smells but when they linger for days after, they lose their goodness and turn just kind of stinky.
I'm going to start filling small saucers and bowls with white vinegar and sprinkling them around the house. Fingers crossed. Fabreeze just can't handle it, maybe vinegar can. Sure cheap enough to try!
