The first taste of fall
Aug. 19th, 2002 05:00 pmToday has been so wonderful. The clouds came in last night and didn't burn off until about 2 p.m. so it's been heavenly cool all day. In exactly two weeks the air conditioner goes into the closet until next July. I can't wait. I'll be able to actually wear the socks I've been knitting.
The Sprint website is still screwed up so I can't get to the part where I set the password so I can't get to the functions on my phone that are new and fun. I made my daily call to Sprint this afternoon and found that the customer service people are getting more and more sympathetic and nice to talk to. Tonight's customer service agent gave me a $25 credit on my bill. (The one on Friday gave me 60 extra minutes but that was a sleeves out of vest gift since I never use up all the minutes I pay for anyway.) $25 gets my gratitude. Plus she was really nice.
Work was busy busy - more handover stuff from my boss. She's serious about this baby thing. I keep thinking she's going to see the light and change her mind. But, now I'm thinking she really is going to have the darned thing. Oh well.
The hip hop concert at the stadium turned out to be a nothing-berger I think. I can hear some noise occassionally - wild cheers - but mostly I hear nothing and I can't see a soul in the stands (but, I can only see a part of the middle level and a bigger part of the upper level - there's a whole lower level that I can't see at all and I can't see the field). Tomorrow night is the country music concert - we'll see who wins the battle of the concerts...

Finally we really know what they think of us.
