Last year I bought myself a floral arrangement every month. To be delivered on the 1st Monday of the month, starting last December. I worked the deal with a small florist in a neighborhood just south of here. I did it all via email. I never met the guy. I paid for a year in advance. I asked for arrangement choices that would be the longest lasting. No angel hair, no carnations, no roses. He did a pretty good job. It got kind of same after a while.I sent him emails from time to time expressing my delight in one of them or my request or more of this or less of that. The one he sent for September was really more of the same so I sent him another email this time asking him - for the last two arrangements - to please forget the long lasting. I wanted color and cheery and pretty. I got a kind of a weird reply from a woman. Before that I'd only ever head from him - Kurt.
Yesterday, the delivery came. Previous deliverers were obviously only driver/delivers but this guy seemed to have a vested interest. I told him I was delighted with the arrangement - which I really really was. And then he told me that he and 'holly' took over the shop last month. Weird. But, ok. There is only one more arrangement left in my deal.
It's been fun and interesting but I don't think I'll do it again next year. I think I'll pick up bouquets here and there as needed instead.

Chef Anita is here today. She's cooking up:
Beef Pot Pie with Mushrooms, Pearl Onions and Port Sauce
Rosemary Chicken Thighs with Sweet & Sour Orange Dipping Sauce and Roasted Cauliflower and Broccoli
Salmon Chowder and Green Beans with Bacon Vinaigrette
Baked Ziti with Tomato, Mozzarella and Sausage and Garlic Bread
Beef Lo Mein
YUM! Of course she starts with lardons so already my house smells delicious.

I'm going to try again today to drop off the bears on my way to swimming. And I might swing by the Y which is in between the two.

I need to make a list of the critical programs on my phone. I back it up completely every day and could just use that restore. But, I'm seriously thinking of going my brother's route of starting fresh with only those apps I consider critical. I am thinking now that I'll start that way and if I can't stand it, I'll do a restore. So today, I need to make a list of Can't Live Withouts.

It looks like there may be no work for me today and I'm not able, so far, to find out when. I'm going to give it a week or so and then escalate to see what the plan is.

i got a JD Power survey in the snail mail. I started out carefully filling it out but it quickly got old. Hey, J.D., paper's out, dude. Online, please. I ended up filling out about half. They get what they get. They did include a crisp one dollar bill which I thought was kind of hilarious.
i do love my car. Every time I get in it. Every time I get out of it. Every time I go back to it. It's just so adorable and so much fun.
