I love me some Sunday
Oct. 9th, 2011 08:49 amI am really enjoying my Kindle. The size of it is perfect. It's a two hander or a one hander and it's lighter in weight than my cellphone. But the most surprising thing to me is how much I am enjoying using it to read the Seattle Times every morning. The Times' website is ok for a quick look up but a bear to wade through for reading. The phone app is just a bear all together. The Kindle app is the Goldilocks. I'm still on my 14 day free trial but I fear I'm going to have to pay for it once the trial is done. Oh well.

My NPR station's pledge drive continues. KCRW (LA) is not behaving well on my phone so I am now trying KUNC (northern Colorado). I am so grateful for alternatives.
---
My script that captures my Google+ content into this journal, captures all of it. Even the LJ entries making for some curious double postings. My current cumbersome - and not always successful - method of dealing with them is to delete the double postings as soon as they show up here. Sometimes they show up immediately and sometimes there's a lag so I'm not always on top of it.
I will be glad when LJ as the function the same way it does for Twitter.

Today is another brunch/movie. I'm meeting
machupicchu at The Cheesecake Factory at 10. Last night I was half listening to the news and heard that in addition to the protesters that are clogging downtown, there was also to be a marathon run that starts and ends from the same spot this morning. That area is a couple of blocks from the restaurant/movie theater so I figure madhouse.
But, this morning, I realize that there's no Seattle marathon.... it took some digging but I finally noodled out that the marathon is in Portland. We just have protesters and I don't think many of them are going to be leaving their tents for a breakfast at Cheesecake Factory or take in a movie in the theaters upstairs from Tiffany's.
We're seeing the Ides of March at the good theater - the one that isn't grimy/gummy and only charges $6 for movies that start before noon like the one we are going to.
---
It's supposed to rain today which would be fine but so far it's just dry and cool and a lovely lovely morning. I think it's time to take a shower and get dressed.
