nailed, swum and home again...

susandennisMy nails were done long before Ann's feet so I walked down the street to a boutique pet food store for info and food.
One of the cats (and I think it's Travis) has been throwing up every day or every other day for about a week. Then, this morning, Betty did. Neither shows any other symptoms of anything other than happy, healthy kitty. They have, like all my cats before them, always been feed the same food the same way.
I leave out a full bowl of dry cheapest-the-store-has-to-offer and then give them a tablespoon of cheap canned stuff once a day. I've had cats live for freakin' ever this way but I know the minute I take either of them into the vet because they are throwing up, food will the the first order of business. So I figured, I'd save a little and do the food thing myself.
No more self feeding. This is going to be interesting. They will get a quarter cup of quality dry food once a day and a quarter to a half can of canned food once a day. I'm thinking dry at lunch and wet at dinner. Although I may have to adjust amounts. I just put the big bowl of cheap stuff away and Travis came in looking for it. So I dolled out the new dry on two different plates - about a quarter cup on each. He shoved it around with his nose. I left the kitchen and started writing this. I just checked and both plates are empty. Betty didn't even get any.
Hmmmm
Oh well, it will soon be dinner time and they will be doing the happy kitty dance at the bigger servings of canned stuff.

After we came back from the nail place, I dropped Ann off and headed to the pool. I started not to but then figured why the hell not? I'd told work I'd be gone til 1 and it was noon. And my swim stuff was in the car. So I did and I'm so glad I did. It was great. And when I got home, work was under control as well as everything else so no harm no foul.

And speaking of the cats... My house has been so cat fur free since I got Betty's hair cut. Wow. I'd forgotten what it was like to wade through dust bunnies of cat hair all the time. Now it's growing back and I'm seeing small tumbleweeds of Betty again... I need a good excuse to cut her hair for Winter.

I forgot to deposit a check again today. I've had this check in my purse for a week. I've past the bank a bazillion times. I need to connect that damn dot.

Crap, I just realized I forgot to hang up my swim suit and towel. I think I'll go do that right now.
