I just love my condo and my cats and my bed and my quiet and my Tivo and my quiet.  I need to remember this next time I make out my Pro/Con list for going to see Mom. Her benefit is during the trip.  Mine is after.

Actually it's not all that quiet right now.  The Seahawks are shooting off a cannon as part of their game opening ceremonies.  I have the door shut tight but it's coming through loud and clear.  I need to turn the volume up on the TV.

I've started a list of stuff I need to do and I've done some of it but nothing is critical and today is for me so if it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done.  I've emptied out my backpack and put it all away and gone through the snail mail.  The rest can wait.

I am going to drive the car to work tomorrow.  I need to take Karen two computer bags that I have and don't want and they are too heavy for me to carry walking to the bus and from the bus to work so I'm just going to drive.  Hope I remember how to get there.  I am looking forward to going back.

I just read in a blog that The Screensavers, which for years was a favorite TV show of mine, is coming back on Monday.  It used to be so good and so chock full of tidbits.  It has changed networks over the years and changed people but the last network/people change really fucked it up royally and they finally yanked it.  It was a mercy killing.  Now they have new people and are trying it again starting tomorrow. Here's hoping.

I'm now going back to resume my afternoon of me.  I have not had to repeat anything I have said today and no one has asked me why I am shouting and I am so very grateful.

Glad you are home

Hi Susan,

I am glad to see you are back and that you survived the evil clutches of SOUTH Carolina. That is not to be confused with NORTH Carolina. (No, people. They are not interchangeable. You can not just say "Carolina.")

I had the pleasure of going home to NORTH Carolina and visiting my family. My father just remarried and she happens to be my age! And she has a 14 year old daughter who now sleeps in my room! And my new step-mom's mother was also visiting. Oh, and did I mention that they are all from Russia? Nothing against foreigners (since I am one in France), it's just the language/culture thing that makes it difficult.

Unfortunately, I can't mention any of this on my blog, because my mother reads it. If she had to read about her ex-husbands new 30-something wife, she would probably go out and have even more plastic surgery.

Thanks for giving me the space to vent.

And I am glad you are home.
