Designer Challenge
Oct. 24th, 2011 02:42 pmOh I am excited. Sheri was just here and we got a lot of good ideas going for changing my office quadrant into something very much more visually appealing and useful. Yeah!
Right now it is a giant desk, arm and credenza in a big old heavy U shape with a heavy chair in the center. It's all leaving and in it's place will be a shallow credenza of drawers and doors and open shelves and a table that is maybe 15" wide for keyboards and mice and then a floating table for work/dining/whatever of some kind with a couple of chairs maybe. And all new lighting.
Yeah!!! I told her that I want to plan, plan, plan, order, make finish and plan and schedule before we do the first thing. I want the upheaval to be a very minimum. She seemed to get it. I'm sticking to that. I told her I wanted to see ideas and thoughts before we talked budget and she was ok with that.
She's going to go put her thinking cap on.
My jobs are find a place on the wall for the webcam. I need to unhook it and move it around and see if I can find a spot that works since where it's sitting now is going to be gone. Then I need to replace my 'server' CPU that currently sits under the desk. It's just too big. I think I can just use my netbook with some powered USB ports instead.
I'm quite excited at the prospect of it all.
Here's a tiny shot I found today of what the area used to look like:

Here's what it looks like right now:

It's going to be so nice.
