It's just fun

susandennisAt the pool today, several of us were chatting while we warmed up and talking about various classes and why we love them and one of the ladies says 'and besides, being in the pool is just fun!' And she is so right. I spent a whole lotta time in the swimming pool growing up. The only times I was out of the pool most Summers was the hour you had to wait after lunch and sleeping. It was always wonderful fun.
By the same token, the gym was always a place of bad smells and ugly outfits and failure. I hated all gym classes in school. I had to take 2 gym classes in college. I took bowling and golf. I sucked at them both.
But, swimming is fun. Being in the pool is a party. I love it. And I'm so glad I found it.

I just read that Sam Palmisano is 60 years old and retiring and the new pres/ceo of IBM has a vagina. Way too amazing on so many levels. When Sam was a baby director, I wrote some speeches for him. While he's only 2 years younger than I am, I kind of have him frozen at 35 in my mind so I'm shocked to hear he is 60. But, the head of IBM Corporation without a penis??? There, of course, have been one or two without balls, but none without a penis. Holy crap on a stick. It's the end of the world as we know it.
