The newspaper was not here when I woke up. This is not a good. When it was not here by 7, I called. The truck was late. I spent some time thinking how ever cost inefficient it is do deliver a hard copy of the newspaper to everyone every day. Kind of amazing that they even do it.
Lee came to walk with me this morning and when we got to the front door of this building getting ready to start, there was Sherry. Our job was to 'walk Sherry to work'. Since Sherry is a dental hygienist in a suburb about 20 miles south of here, I was a bit confused.. Turns out she has signed up for volunteering at the aquarium and as part of that she had a day of classes ahead of her at Aquaversity! She was most excited about getting a photo id badge. She said that she was the last person in America not to have one. Now she feels like she belongs. (note to self: take one of those neck badge holders down to her this afternoon - I have a zillion and we might as well make a big todo about her new badge)
Lee and I walked a long way down the waterfront and then up the hill towards town and down along the street that has all the furniture shops. It was raining most of the way but not hard and it was not too cold. A nice walk.
Then I did some investigation as to why my Treo was acting funny. It was having heart palpitations. Pretty soon it was near a full heart attack. Finally, I just wiped it clean and did a restore of my backup software (best $20 I ever spent!). Then I was able to delete the corrupted program (which is one I rarely use) and all was fine. Whew.
I just got a note from Mom. Her friend Howard's daughter sent the eulogy notes for her dad's funeral to Mom so Mom could print them out for her. Only Mom couldn't figure out how to print. GoToMyPC may be a piece of shit and it is way way slow but it is sure better than nothing. I hopped onto Mom's computer and printed out the document one for her, one for Cathi, the daughter and one for Doug, the son.
And, her note also said "I spent the morning cleaning out my TIVO... You know, when you live in just one small room, it is important to keep things tidy."
And here we have tidy, too. The laundry is finishing it's final load and the kitchen is cleaned up and the dishwasher is running.
Finally... As we passed by all the furniture stores this morning, Lee and I noticed that shag rugs are obviously back in. Is that really wise? And with them are also those horrible crocheted ponchos with fringe. They were not a good idea in the 60's and they have not improved with age.
Now. If you need me, I will be on the couch in front of the TV. Please do not disturb unless it is important. Thank you.
It's probably a good day for a fire in the fireplace but I'm done being productive so I'm just going to stick one here.
