See the flow? That's me going with it...
Nov. 10th, 2011 10:48 amYesterday's entry was a list of stuff I was going to do since there was no work ready for me to do. As I got to the end of the entry, work came in and kept coming so except for my swim, I was pretty much at it until early evening which was fine and dandy.
This job is so weird and I am so lucky that it suits me so well. On most any given day, I have no idea if I am going to be busy than a one armed paper hanger or have zero work to do. And, honestly, I'm cool with it all. Currently, my paycheck is unaffected. I get paid as long as I'm here and ready - work or no - for 8 hours a day. I can pop out for quick errands but need to stand by here mostly. Happily, 'here' is a great place to hang.
I do enjoy the work when it comes in - I like the challenge and the brain aerobics. But I'm also cool with the down time. It's a little disconcerting to all of a sudden have a pile of work that needs to be done now with no notice but that's a small price to pay for the rest of it.
Today I'm, so far, looking at no work but that could change any minute!
I have changed the sheets and a load of laundry is now in the dryer. I've ticked a few more things off the list.
I think
earthmother45 and I are well on our way to filling in the transom window over my sliding glass doors with some stained glass magic. I'm so thrilled. Her work is so beautiful and that spot has, for 20 years, needed a special treatment. What a thrill.
I have about an hour until it's time to leave for swimming. When I first woke up this morning, I thought I felt a little better but that kind of went downhill. I do NOT feel any worse at all and maybe a little better. After I got home from the pool yesterday, I felt very much better all the rest of the day so I'm hoping for the same today. I would like to be totally rid of this crud.
