Date: 2004-12-10 07:04 am (UTC)And pho is a Vietnamese beef noodle soup. It's a hot broth of some kind with scallions and clantro and seasonings. They boil it up and plop in really light rice noodles to cook. they boil it up again and plop in meat to cook and then serve. (You can, of course, get it without the meat.)
Here's a picture. I always think it looks delicious and then when I have it, I'm reminded that there is some funny after taste that never seems to go away.

Date: 2004-12-11 06:01 am (UTC)The best way to start, I think is to 'practice'. Take an imaginary $2,000 and pick 3 or 4 stocks that interest you - companies you like or what ever. Then 'pretend' invest your $2,000.
Go to Yahoo and click on Finance and set yourself up a stock portfolio (you have to register but it is free). Also, the Yahoo finance pages are full of good and simple info that might also help you get started.
Anyway, set yourself up a portfolio. Plug in your 3 or 4 stocks that you spent your pretend $2,000 on and watch them for a month or so... I love watching the differences day to day.
Go for it!
