One breath at a time

susandennisIn my 62 years, I have never had any illness that stretched out beyond a week. Really. I've always marveled at people who were able to endure long illnesses. I used to watch this program called Mystery Diagnosis. People would tell stories of having a horrible affliction for years and seeing bazillion doctors and getting no relief. I was always amazed at that.
This current bronchitis/pneumonia/coughing/shortnessofbreathness is now looking down the nose at a month. And, frankly, that's about 3 weeks too long for my taste.
Last night I lay in bed trying to breathe and managing a loud, out-of-tune, wheeze. This morning when I woke up, I lay there listening and no wheezing and relatively easy breathing and enjoyed it enormously. Then I got up and the coughing started.
Crap on a stick. It does not seem to have gotten worse over the past couple of days so I'm clinging to that for now.

And, really, that's all I got. It's all consuming. I'm going to go to the pool today and give swimming a try. If it doesn't help the cough, it might help my attitude.
