susandennisI came in this morning to find three gingerbread men on my desk... No note... No clues... After yesterday's entry, I'm curious... Coincidence? hmmmm
I had dinner last night with the office manager from the company I left last February. She is always so good to visit with but hearing the poop from that place is always disconcerting. There was so much about it I liked. But so much more that I didn't. While on the books I was laid off, I'll always believe that I was nicely fired and that I really did fail at the job. And for some reason, I can't really let go of it. I dreamed about the place last night and it was not a fun dream.
Generally, I have no trouble forgiving myself and moving on but somehow this one just sticks in my craw.

jimcarson that he had Krispy Kreme donuts in his office. Field Trip! I am on the second floor of my building. His office is on the the second floor of the building next door. I have been there before. It still took me for freakin' ever to find the right spot. Microsoft has a scheme for numbering offices that is brilliant. So brilliant that it is top secret - revealed to no one. There are signs at all building corners to help you find your way. But they involve up arrows and down arrows as well as left and right. There must be pride in being able to easily find any office in a Microsoft building. I will never know.
But, I did get a bit of a workout getting to my KK reward.
My Mom seems to be improving... She seems to have maybe even found a marble or two that she lost before. She's really gotten back into the computer. I was afraid, for a while there that she'd never enjoy it as much again but she's emailing everybody and ordering stuff and staying on top of the news and her stocks.
She sent me a photograph yesterday of Polly's dogs on Santa's lap and asked me to 'put this on the web, please'. Done. (Polly is like a personal concierge for Mom and others there at 'the home' ) Polly's pups - Polly has AOL and that's all she knows and she doesn't really know that too well. I hope she can figure out how to see the pix. I also sent her the smallest one in email - I hope she can at least see that one.
I'm launching a new website today. I got in early early early to get all the latest bits fixes and tweaks finished. I got it all done and now I'm waiting for 4 docs and the thumbs up for 'publish' from the owner. I think, while I wait, I'll go make backup copies of the bits and pieces - just in case.
You may now accuse me of destroying evidence. Yum.
