Annoyances

My computing karma is not in line with good things this morning... Mom's IP address changed (finally) but the little program on her machine didn't pick it up and I'm not sure why. Still working on that.

My own computer has not been rebooting properly lately. I rarely reboot but lately when I do, it doesn't want to come back up on it's own. If, while Dell is showing it's ad, I hit all the f keys, I finally get an error screen that when I clear it, allows me to log on (even though I have 'never require logon' configured.)

And the 'run' command in the start menu did not work. Clicking on it rendered nothing. I finally did find how to get it other than clicking on the command in the start menu. On the way to finding that, however, If found a post about a switch on a piece of shareware that I run (World Time). The poster reported that with this feature turned on his 'run' command didn't work. I disabled the switch, rebooted and run is back.

But mysteries still abound.

Oh and I mailed this morning's pix to buzznet and they have not gotten there yet which is very strange. It's been about an hour.

This, too is mysterious. I may well just watch some TV for a while and let the computing spend some quality time remunerating on the ramifications of pissing me off.
