I have it.  BDD.  I spent a while today trying to get my web cams situated so that the party people could get the best view.  As a result I spent a lot more time looking at myself on camera and, honestly, it's a shock.  I do not look anything close to what the camera is showing.

I kind of look like me but it's a me without makeup on and hair done and a me that is packing more than 125 unneeded pounds and one too many chins.

For some reason the mirror does not have as sharp a contrast between the me that I see and the me that is real.   But the camera view is just a total shock and not that pleasant a shock. Yes, I know I could lose the weight, exercise the extra chin away, put on make up and do my hair but I chose to believe that the camera, does, in fact, lie. I'm ok with the way I look until I see those pictures.

The fix, of course, is for me not to look at the cam shots.  I can do that.

Hey [livejournal.com profile] susandennis - what are you watching? It looks like a program about the Red Sox, but it is a funny time of year for that.

That's funny - we saw a screen that seemed to have something with the word, "SOX" in big letters (and a fuzzy something before it). Later we saw someone who clearly was wearing a Red Sox baseball cap. But we couldn't quite recognize him (some thought it was Kurt Schilling). Couldn't figure out what story about Kurt could be on the news this time of year.

Well, the last guest has left, except for [livejournal.com profile] susandennis, so I'm afraid we're going to have to kick you out and go to bed. It was great having you here with us all afternoon, knitting and watching television. We hope you had a good time - we sure did!

There's some leftover cheesecake and chocolate fudge. I'm sure that if you had been able to eat with us, that we would have had exactly enough food.

Thanks for joining us. Happy new year!
