I should have come up with a plan for today. Everyone has gone back to work but me (and, well, the other people who work at Microsoft). It's a perfect day for something. But, I don't have anything on my list of stuff I want to do or need to do so I'll just end up frittering the day away. This will be fine unless on say Wednesday or Thursday I do the V-8 forehead slap and remember what it was that I really wanted to do on the first day I have off when everyone else is working.

Ooops, it must be 9:30. The marching drums just started up. When I was coming in from my walk this morning, I passed by the Seahawks tickets window. I read in the paper this morning that they were not allowing people to get in line until 6 a.m. (Ok, so what do people do who want to be first in line? Form a line to start the line that starts at 6 a.m.? How can you restrict people from forming a line? But, I digress....)

At 8, when I went by, there were maybe 25 people in line with ribbon queue markers indicating they were expecting more like 250. Most of the 25 were huddled around each other, wrapped in sleeping bags and blankets. There were about 15 Seahawks security people to keep those blankets in line. There was a Tully's coffee stand with a frozen guy ready to pour you some coffee and a Krispy Kreme tent with a frozen girl ready to serve. The whole tableau was a bit sad looking.

Just now I looked at there is no one in line but they have added balloons and streamers and the security people look a bit warmer. The marching drummers have passed on through.

I think I'll go read my book while the laundry is laundrying.

Here's the only photo I got this morning. Generally these babies are behind a fence but the gate was open today so I could get a close up. They kind of remind me of grand old ladies all festooned but forgotten.
