Ahhh a new year

I'm back at work today but since last week was so quiet, I'm pretty much all caught up. All of my next steps involve other people and they need to get in, go through their email, remember where the coffee is, swap tales with each other, etc. So it's liable to be after lunch before the action picks up.

TV reruns forced me to get creative in my TV watching for the past couple of weeks and Tivo went a little nuts on HGTV in the void of everything else. I did pick up a new favorite show - Crafters Coast to Coast.

For several years now I've thought that I really want to gut my house and start again. I need new carpet, new furniture and new design. And I can't do it on my own. I need a professional. And I have no clue how to find one. I don't even know where to start. I did apply to be on Designers' Challenge. Maybe they will find me a designer.

It's turned fairly chilly here and I do have to stop and remember that too cold is WAY better than too hot. It really is. And, too cold has its rewards. This is the forecast from the Seattle Times this morning. Hoping, hoping, hoping

Why don't you apply to Queer Eye for the Straight Girl?? I'm sure they'd have lots of fun with all your knitting stuff. (speaking of which it was hard to tell whether you were actually making progress on Sunday - the slightly fuzzy 5 minute snapshots aren't too good for that!

If you keep the lights dim (so you can't see the stains in the carpet) and you don't see the drawers that won't close all the way after the earthquate and you don't mind faded paint, it doesn't look so bad :)

But, I can't see doing the straight girl thing. I don't want a makeover of ME just of my house. But, in the interest of following every lead, I went to their website to sign up and no link... They probably have all the straight girls they need.

No! No snow in Seattle! I'm *leaving* snow -- I even bought an umbrella because I was so thrilled at the idea of plain old rain. :) Seriously, I have done something to earn some serious bad weather mojo these last few days . . .

Oh, really, don't worry. It won't snow. Really. Never does. It is fairly chilly however - layers, you need layers. And that umbrella... Well, that's how we tell who the tourists are. Real Seattlites don't use umbrellas - so they say.
