The bits and the bytes

I got an email today from Designers' Challenge. They are delighted to have received my application. I should be contacted by their staff in 6 to 8 weeks with more information. In Susan Time that equals 'some time after the start of Spring Training but before the baseball season gets under way'. I can wait.

I actually am waiting to hear from vixter. She is working in her company's Bellvue office which is around the corner from here, I gather, and she wanted to go to lunch. She said she would call this morning but I haven't heard yet. I'm guessing that she might have hit a snag with her Mom. I hope all is ok. My backup plan is clam chowder from the café downstairs. It is excellent.

I have never actually met anyone - face to face - that I know from Live Journal. Vixter was to have been my first. (And may still be - it's only 11:15.) But, tomorrow, I'm going to meet cathboblet who is staying at a hotel in downtown Seattle. We're going to do my Saturday morning walk! And look for donuts or crumpets or whatever.

I have met jimcarson face to face but he doesn't count. I knew him first from jimcarson.com - he's an LJ newby relatively speaking.

I soon will have been a part of Live Journal for 3 years.

And, speaking of bits of my life that have been recently acquired by other companies, my ISP was apparently bought last fall and then again last December. And I never knew. It's a wonderful little local ISP founded by a woman and run by the most delightful people. www.drizzle.com

We are having massive snow ... Forecasting. Yes, folks. We have snow on TV but not on the ground. It's not even that cold which is why, I'm guessing, there is no real snow. Only fake, pretend, double doplar EXCLUSIVE accuweather snow. When I walk outside, I have to make those cool crunching sounds with my mouth.

I am waiting on three people at work to do their bits on three different projects so that then I can finish up mine. They are all very busy and important people and, apparently, not so interested that I'm waiting... Waiting... Waiting...
