I have heard nothing from the designer I wrote to. I realize that not everyone checks their email as often as I do. Nor is everyone as anal about responding immediately. In fact, some would say - and some probably already have - that I am electronically anal.
There is an 8 hour dead spot in my 24 hour day. I do not check or respond to email from about 9:30ish at night until about 5:30ish in the morning. The rest of the time, I'm on top of it. If I do not promptly respond to an email during The Rest Of The Time, it's almost always due to one of four reasons:
- No answer is required (although I will generally send a short note indicating I got it)
- I was cc'd or bcc'd and I'm just watching
- I am actively ignoring the sender
- I still do not care to get hard for my woman
I know that the rest of the world is different. Some people go for hours in a day without even checking their email. And some people do not answer immediately. I don't like that but I understand.
But, if you have a business and you want more business, and you advertise your email address, I think a response is pretty mandatory. And that response needs to be pretty quick. You need to check your email at the beginning of every day and at the end - at a minimum and reply.
I haven't quite written off this designer yet. I could yet get an email today explaining that due to her emergency kidney transplant last night, she missed the window of opportunity for a timely response.
Even I can make allowances once in a while.

Even in a recession people still can't be bothered to chase business.

I am so verbose. Sheesh!
