I'm spending a lot of time thinking about this house thing. Making lists. Collecting ideas. Gathering random thoughts. I started a webpage yesterday but I'm not sure that's the best vehicle for recording (mainly so I don't forget). I'm actually kind of glad that Sheri can't come for another week. I'm happy to use this time to gather myself, my ideas, my thoughts...

I'm prepared for this to take some time. I generally need everything done now. But even I know this will take more than the 30 minutes (minus commercials) it generally takes on TV.

I want to make sure that my computer (or rather, my internet access) has minimal down time and ditto with the TV/Tivos/Cable. The computer is easy to move around and replug back in - even the wireless part. But the TV is too big. I may well invest in a cheap trolly to put the TV and it's bits on to minimize it's down time.

I did not really have changes to the kitchen in mind. But, I think the kitchen might have some different ideas on that. The dishwasher is falling out of it's place. While I was unloading it yesterday, it started falling forward. This is new. It's now on the list. And, yes, I will keep the web cams going as much as possible. One even pre-makeover issue that I've recently encountered is Jake's new found habit of sitting just in front of one of the cameras.

What you can't see in this picture is the webcam just behind his ass.

He's so funny how his habits change. I first got Jake in 1989 when he was about 6 weeks old. He was an adorable kitten who drove my other cat at the time crazy. He grew into a very very fat cat. I mean very fat. For about 5 years he shared our house with a tiny little black cat who was the most affectionate cat on the planet. Jake was never very chummy but when Pizza was around, he was even less so. When she died, he spent about a year adjusting and finally got so he'd nap in the same room as me. Then about two years ago he started losing weight. Lots of weight - gradually. (Weight Watchers? Jenny Craig? He won't say.) And starting this past winter, he's turned into nuzzle kitty. He is rarely far from me. This sitting on the computer thing has just started in the last month but it's now part of the routine. He's a strange cat for sure. Wonder what he's going to think of the makeover?

This is just too much fun. We should all do this!!
