A half dozen years ago or so, I bought a pair of slippers at Sears. They were on sale and cost me probably $7. I loved them. They were perfect. Warm without making my feet hot, comfortable, easy on and off. They don't need socks and are soft enough to not poke me when I sit cross legged. Perfect. After several months I went back and they still had a pair and I snagged it and then came home and found them online for $6 and bought 6 more pair. I wear them all the time in the winter.

Some are black, some are red some are purple. Over the years I have opened a new pair and so there are several different colors around. Recently I've been wearing two black ones. They finally wore through yesterday and I retired them. I grabbed the first two I found in the closet - one purple and one red. I like walking on the wild side.

When I came back this morning after Amira had cleaned my red/purple pair were gone. No clue where. I found one red slipper under the bed and another red one on a shelf in the closet. So now I'm back to rocking a matching pair.

I think I still have about 3 or maybe 4 years before slippers become an issue again.

The Mariners are having a fairly lovely Spring Training. Winning a lot and doing good. It would be so lovely if they could keep that up.

An O is not a Q but still one should not use it in a model number... The dryer fix it people called this morning to have me verify the model number. I knew there was something funky with the number cause the guy at the dealership couldn't find it at first either and I could not find the manuals online at the Frigidaire site.

I told her that was the number so there. But, just now I got to looking again and found a page that listed all the model numbers starting with GL and then I could search on the middle numbers and learned that my model is not GLOxxx but GLQxxx. Fuck me.

I called the repair place and told the guy that my O was really a Q. He was cool. I asked him if he knew the window of time tomorrow and he said 3-6 pm which really suits me fine and dandy. No swimming interference.

Plus now I see on their website that they have a technician tracking page. I plugged in my info and found out that I have no appointment today but one tomorrow with a window of 3-6. I guess tomorrow I can watch my dude's progress. That's a bit amusing.

I have an appointment with the cute doctor tomorrow. A follow up appointment. Today I did a test. No combivent (rescue inhaler) all day. I walked all through IKEA and not leisurely either... and I went to swim and I am breathing fine and dandy thankyouverymuch.

Two things I want to find out tomorrow... 1) that I do not have to go back to that Asshat allergy guy. I don't plan to mention him and if Dr. Cute says nothing then I am declaring Dr. Asshat, a Doctor Of The Past. 2) that he sees zero problems with my having cataract surgery this year.

Oh and a 3rd one would be that he does not want to see me again for a good long while.

---

I did some more research on the when of cataract surgery. Apparently for some reason not clearly explained some doctors like to wait until a cataract is 'ripe' before they remove it. There also appears to be a degree of ripeness that if you aren't there yet some insurance won't cover it. A lot of what I found said that the ripeness thing is a bunch of hooey. If the cataract bothers you then it is 'ripe'. The insurance paying thing is a different concern.

So, assuming #2 above, then I will pursue with a cataract removal doctor and get them to find out if my insurance will cover it. I have two doctor candidates in mind and I may pursue with both - second opinion style.

Now I'm going down to get the mail.
