Just a normal, nice Friday
May. 4th, 2012 03:12 pmI had some work this morning - finishing up the world's longest, most fiddly, web page but I got 'er done and it was good.
Then I hit the pool. This was also good. I used my ankle floats which give my legs an extra ooomph in their workout.
Then home for this and that.
The internets are cycling through ... a fair number of spammy LJ comments recently - interestingly most on one, ancient entry. The other day, I got a rash of spam email but it stopped as strangely as it started.
I found a new web browser... http://maxthon.com - I don't like that it made itself my default browser but that was easy enough to fix. I do like that it's fast - fast as Chrome so when Chrome gets cranky which it does now and again, I've got a nice Plan B.
I've been using Mint to track my finances since forever. Since it was pretty and efficient and worked every time. Over the years and over the buyout (Intuit) it has become sugglish and old and often it likes to skip getting updates from Ameriprise which most of my investments are.
So when I heard that there was a new game in town, I signed right up. http://personalcapital.com has a horrible name. I cannot remember it. But it is pretty and fresh and new and snappy the way Mint was when it was younger. Personal Capital had no problem getting the goods from Ameriprise only it didn't get all of the goods. I have 7 different accounts and it only got 6. Kind of lame. I sent an email. I'll be interested to see what I hear, if anything.
My brother sold his house! Well, he's got a contract contingent on passing inspection so fingers are crossed. That will be such a nice burden off his shoulders.
The baseball game is here so not til 7. Chef Anita's line up this time included several new selections and so far they have all been very outstanding. Tonight's another one I have not tried before. I'm looking forward to it.
But now I think I'll go down and get the mail.
