Saving money left and right

susandennisI had my annual physical this morning. When I made the appointment, I thought snagging the first of the day was smart. 7:30. In/out, no traffic/no waiting. Er... didn't quite think it through.
My cute doctor likes to tweak me (his term which I love). And that involves changing prescriptions which involve a trip to the pharmacy which doesn't open until 9 and doesn't get its shit together until 9:30. But, what.ev.er.
My first savings of the day was no-copay. My insurance now lets me slide into an annual check up for freebie. Nice.
I lost 12 pounds (swimming), my blood pressure is fine, my glucose is fine, everything is fine except I failed the urine test. I knew it was possible - instead of not a pot to piss in, I had no piss for the pot. So I had to retake the test and I'm not sure I did much better today. I can't produce on demand, it turns out.
I do have elevated levels of that thing that causes gout which totally explains why I've had so many flareups. One option is a prophylactic drug but I hate that options and so does my cute doctor so he's tweaking other stuff.
He's eliminating two drugs and trying a new one. I don't know what my body will think but my wallet totally LOVES this idea. The new drug cost me $0. I can't quite figure out why since my insurance has a copay for all drugs, even generic but the pharmacy charged me $0 and that's what I paid. Nice.
He wants to see me in 2 weeks. So I left there, went and peed in a cup and then went on to the pharmacy. I had him send the prescription to Bartell's which is a proper drug store rather than the chemist there in the building who always piss me off. I thought Bartell's opened at 7 or 8 and I knew the chemist didn't open til 9.
Off to Bartell's which does, indeed, open at 7. BUT... the pharmacy section doesn't open til 9. Sigh. Happily, I had my Kindle and that good book I'm reading. Got my stuff and came home where I know have work to do on my fun project so I need to get to it.
