Things are absolutely better

First of all I got a great sleep last night. No waking up coughing at all. Yesterday morning I pretty much wanted a cigarette all morning long. Today, I had a couple of twinges and then forgot about it. I know it will not be this easy but I'm grateful for an easy day.

I celebrated by getting my hair totally chopped off. It wasn't that long to start with but I had her cut it back about 3/4ths of it's length. I told her to think bald and then come back from there about an inch. She did and I'm happy. This way I can stretch one haircut out 14 weeks and still have it be basically no maintenance. The funny part is that I had it done at lunch and came back to work and no one has noticed... Can you say invisible?? This amuses me.

My mortgage broker found me what looks like a pretty decent deal... 5.875% with relatively low fees over my current 7.25%... I may just do it.

I'm having post-it notes with our company logo and contact info on it made up. I spent a fair amount of time getting the design just exacly like I wanted it. I sent the vendor a PDF of my design with specific dimensions, font information and all of the detail one could possibly need. Today I got a proof. Wrong size paper, wrong size logo, wrong font, wrong font size, wrong emphasis... They did get the color correct - Navy. The sales rep said 'oh well, aren't we glad we got a proof???'. I suggested that I wasn't all that crazy about doing stuff twice so maybe she could look at the proof and at my request to see if they match BEFORE she sent it to me????? What this woman doesn't get is that she has competition breathing down her neck. I've got a guy who offers just what she does and I'll just bet you he'd do it right the first time...

I have redone about half of the corporate website. For each of the about 300 pages I have to strip out the flash detector, strip out the flash pointers and replace them with a straight table and images... It's mind numbing work but I'm half done and I should be able to finish up tomorrow. It's going to look very very nice.

No no... cams not going anywhere... I own the joint - condo... This mortgage broker is scouting me out a refi deal. Not to worry, I'm done moving. They will cart me out of there in a body bag. Plus, with the new stadium and other neighborhood improvements, the value of my condo has risen so much that I can't afford to move!

I am so glad you had a good day!!! Some people are very fortunate that they have an easier time stopping than others. My granddad smoked for 60 years, and when my grandma started having trouble with various ailments and needed oxygen most of the time, they told him he would have to smoke outside. He said it wasn't worth it (we are by nature, a very lazy family ;), so he put them down and never touched them again. Said it was not a big deal. I've never been anything but amazed at his ability to do that after 60 years! But since then, I've read some accounts where it is easier for some than for others. My thoughts are with you that you are one of those people with the easy route. If not, we know where Viola lives.

Wouldn't that be great? Just put 'em down and never miss 'em. That's great to know it's been known to happen! I have to say that it is easier these days. The only person I know any more who still smokes just moved to Michigan. It would be hard to be around smokers. I am very lucky.

That's awesome that you are cutting down/quitting the cigs! Take it one day at a time and don't beat yourself up! And yeah, the cravings are murder!

Thanks, it's already getting easier and my house smells better and I swear I can already breathe more easily. Nothing like positive reinforcement!!!

I'm still looking at the options and this broker is kind of flakey but the deal is one of the best I've seen for me. Lower would be even better.

But, the big news for us is NO BASEBALL STRIKE!!! I really am amazed. I thought for sure we would not see any more games this year. And there you are with your team on the top of the heap!! You've got to be excited. Wow.
