God's car wash

susandennis"Hurry up and get the car out while it's raining so hard. Let God wash it!" Nobody loved a free car wash better than my Mom.
While Seattle is known for rain, we really rarely get 'real' rain. We have many many cloudy days and many misty days.
But if you see what we used to call a gullywasher - especially one with thunder and lightening - you are seeing Seattle in a movie or on TV (where those kind of Seattle days are very common).
In Real Life, this happens maybe once a year or once every other year... and today. My car is very clean now. I was getting ready to go to the pool when the bottom fell out so I hurried to make sure I got the maximum use of the soaking. Success!!

I invented a cellphone pocket in my jeans and it works beautifully!!! Twice now, my phone has fallen out of my jeans pocket. Not good. So I made the pocket deeper BUT I also sewed in a half inch so now I put the phone in lengthwise and then twist it around horizontally under the sewing and that 'locks' it in!! Genius!! I tested it out and it's perfect. Now I'm going to do the other pair.

Color me Google. Today I sold my Kindle Fire and ordered a Nexus 7. I got the fire because I wanted backlit/color Kindle. But it's just not Android enough. It's close but last night, I was reading a magazine on it and I wanted a copy (electronic or paper) of a recipe in the magazine that I could give to Chef Anita.
I was locked into the Kindle and I couldn't get out.
The magazine experience isn't good enough yet so I'm ok with giving that up and I know that the Kindle app is great so I'm not giving up my books. And I'm keeping the backlit just getting it in a lighter/thinner package.
Hope they start shipping soon.
