Between Martha and Krispy Kreme, my stock 'portfolio' did not do very well today. I still have a few shares of Sirius which had a nice little bump today (but still not up to what I dumped the majority of my shares for...). It was a net loss for me for the day - but these days, I'm thinking tax write off instead of loss.

And, speaking of tax, Ye Olde CPA did not respond to my two emails. That's not nice. I'll give him until tomorrow and then call.

I called today to have www.trashbusters.com come haul away most of my old furniture. I think I'm going to hang onto my sofa, my table, my bed and maybe my desk - for a little bit. Sheri has promised to send me some kind of schedule by the end of today so I'll have an idea of when paint my happen, when carpet might happen, when shelves might happen. I had asked her to get rid of the old furniture but she didn't seem too interested. So I looked at 1-800-Got-Junk and while hunting for it, found Trashbusters. I liked their website better and they seemed semi-local - here and a couple of places in Canada. The woman I spoke to on the phone this morning was definitely Canadian. And a very nice one, too.

They are coming Saturday at 9. And then instead of having to stare at filthy, dusty, broken furniture, I'll be staring at filthy, trashy, disgusting carpet.

I mentioned last week that Mom was so much better. And now I have proof that she knows is. Last night she told me she wanted the updated Encarta, please. She loved World Book when we had the set. Every year when we get the annual supplement, she would pour over it. Then she got a computer and found Encarta and her love turned to lust. One year - a couple of years ago - I asked her if she wanted me to get her the latest version. She said no, she didn't think she'd be around long enough to get the most out of it.

Apparently, she's changed her mind. Her Encarta 2005 should be there Wednesday.

Oh and her new chair has an ejector button. Only her two oldest granchildren still call her Monkey but now they can call her the Flying Monkey!

Forget Martha! Go with JNJ (Johnson and Johnson) and if you feel like it, put a little $ on Boeing (BA) Their stock just took a dive because the CEO was having an affair) but with 4 more years of George Bush the stock should do pretty well for you. You can get BA at a low price now and have fun watching it go back up :)
