I started asking Sheri last week, via email, what our timetable was looking like. I should have smelled a rat when I wasn't getting an answer. I finally wore her down to learn that it will be SIX FUCKING WEEKS before the first thing happens here.

The first thing is the painter and she's now talking to two of them and one can't do it until April 18 and the other one is on about the same schedule.

So why in the hell did I bust my ass to get everything packed up and ready just to sit around and look at dirt and root through boxes to find stuff for the next six weeks???!!!!

I'm really more pissed at myself than anything else. I should have nailed her down before I got my expectations set and before I started packing up everything!

I'm still going to get the haulers to come get this stuff. I can't stand to look at it. I think, though, in light of this depressing development, I'll hold out a few more items than I had planned. Maybe the hutch here by the desk. I can use the card table for a desk, but it would be nice to have something for papers and paper clips maybe. And there is a table in the front room that I use for all kinds of things. I think I'll hold on to that.

I need to get past this. It's my own damn fault. ARUGH!

Eh, if you had nailed her down you would have probably barely made it in time. You know how it is with software, and real estate can be just like it.

Now it is done and you will appreciate it even more when it finally gets started. 6 weeks seems like a long time though.

I am anxious for you to get started too. It is so fun and interesting, and doesn't cost me a dime. LOL.

Hmmmm . . I don't think it's your fault, Susan. Part of her planning process with you - which included design, drawings, color/fabric choices, etc. should have included times/dates and estimated work and delivery schedules. Decorators do this all the time - they often work with the same sub-contractors over and over again and should have, at least, some idea of their timeframes. She should have been forthcoming with any information she had available . . you shouldn't have had to pry information out of her! If she didn't know . . then she needed to tell you so!

The question that comes to mind is *were you keeping her in the loop about all your cleaning, "ridding out", packing, etc.? If you were, she should have jumped in IMMEDIATELY with the fact that nada will happen for a month and a half and encouraged you to take things slow and easy because all good things are worth waiting for!

That's my two cents worth in spite of the fact that it's absolutely none of my beeswax. Chalk it up to being an opinionated, cheeky ol' busybody!
