I am clearing the final bits off of all of the furniture and finding that temporary housing is hard to come by. I think once they move this crap out of here, it will be easier to get a little organized.

Can I just stop right now and thank myself? Thank me for all those full car trips to Goodwill, all those trips down to the dumpster. I have a lot of shit but I have a whole whole whole lot less shit than I did at the start of 2005!

The haulers should be here in about 45 mins. I forgot to ask how they want payment. I'm hoping they are happy with a credit card because, honestly, I only know where one check is. I never write checks - I keep one in my wallet for emergencies. This could be one, I guess. Note to self: find that box of shit-from-the-desk-pencil-drawer.

At least it is overcast and not sunny. It would be hard to do this lifting/packing/moving in the hot sun.

Mom loves Clorets gum. She always has. She had a little box of the chicklets in her purse as far back as I remember. I will never ever see a box of them without smelling her scent and being instantly transformed back to when Mommy was a mystical figure to be feared and revered and loved.

In the olden days the gum section of the candy counter had Clorets, Juicy Fruit, Spearmint and Double Bubble and that was really about it unless it was a specialty store. These days you can get gum in the form of a gun that shoots. Clorets are impossible to find. But, once again, it's the internet to the rescue.

I first found them on the internet about five years ago. One box lasts her a long time and she forgets that she's out and by the time she remembers to ask, she can't remember what they are called and neither can I. So the email that says 'Would you have some more of that gum sent to me, please? No hurry.' - when it comes, the problem is not ordering the gum, the problem is remembering what it is called! Google isn't that impressed with little green chicklet gum that is kind of a breath mint'.

I got the email this morning and thought 'crap, I don't have time to dig around and figure this out again...' So I finished reading my friends' journals and got more coffee and brushed my teeth and BAM it hit me... Clorets! Found my last order and told them to hit her again.

Next time I can juse LJ Archive to find the name! Do you feel used?

I write few checks, that's for sure. For the last two months my bank statement has had just one cancelled check in it: $25 to my hairdresser. I don't make it to the ATM that often, or I'd pay her cash. I pay everything else through my online banking with Bank of America. It's absolutely wonderful, isn't it? Ah, modern technology.

Duh, I had never noticed the search function in LJArchive before. And I just spent five minutes poring through the menus until I finally noticed it in the toolbar. I can't count how many times I've wanted to search my old entries and not had a tool. Thank you!
