My friends, Ann and Ron had a small dress/gift shop here in Seattle for about 25 years until they closed it and retired about 4 years ago.  Last night at dinner, Ron (who turns 75 today) admitted that he does miss work.  I so get that.

This morning, I passed on going out to breakfast and sat down at the work computer and dug in.  When I finished 4 hours had passed and I was surprised it was that long.  I like the work.  It's like solving a puzzle or wrapping a an elegant package - there are things to noodle out along the way and when you are done you have a thing to look at and say I did that!

I don't have to travel or even get dressed.  I attend the few meetings required of me over the phone.  I can even work when I can barely breathe and no one even knows.  It's just the perfect job for me and I'm so lucky to have found it and lucky to have it.  I am so not ready to retire. I don't plan on living until I'm 75 but if I do, maybe I'll be ready but not now.

Plus, now I'm all caught up and ready for Tuesday!

Oooh I just read that more than 18,000 people are without power right now in Seattle.  May I just say thank you for leaving me out of that group??!!  We don't get ice storms like the south. We may have a snow storm every 4 or 5 years.  We have earthquakes and  a volcano but not that often but wind?  We got wind.  And we are getting a Christmas morning blow job today but I think it maybe over.

Now I think I'll take advantage of breathing and go empty the dishwasher before I put my feet up and knit.

Somehow I doubt any of the men in Seattle were satisfied with that xmas morning blow job.
