Capacity issues...
Jan. 4th, 2012 09:59 amMy lungs and I are reaching our limit. I'm getting tired of doctors and inhalers and tests and paying for it all. My lungs are just tired. And they can't take a nap and fix it.
Today's allergist/breathing guy says it's COPD for sure. I'm not allergic to anything. My lungs are working, in general, at about half (51%) - compared to other women who are my height and weight. The rescue inhaler I have been using (and got a new one of yesterday for $40) ups that ante to 63%.
So, he swapped that one for a new one (another $40). And he wants to see me in two weeks.
And he says not to ignore any even tiny sign of any illness (which, happily, I don't get). At the first sign, I'm supposed to go see someone even if it's a drugstore nurse. He said exercise would help and he's talking more than swimming but allowed as how on bad days it's going to be a bit difficult. (For me, on good days, it's going to be difficult since it fights my lazy dna.)
This guy is no optimist. He said it will take a lot of trial and error, probably, to get the right balance of drugs. Great. I love medial trial and error. Oh and his nurse was beyond annoying. Her manner was as if she was talking to a 12 year old OR someone with dementia. I held my tongue as best I could and wished dementia on her.
I'm just tired of all this. The woman who checked me in to the clinic this morning said 'you were just here, yesterday! too bad we don't have frequent points.'
Hahaha. Oh well. I'm done for at least two weeks so I can concentrate on CES and Las Vegas. And that's just what I'm going to do.

Date: 2012-01-04 08:07 pm (UTC)Did any of the doctors mention portable oxygen as a breathing aid?
Anyway, hang in there, I hope CES is as fun as it was last year for you.
