We are getting a little of winter back. Not nearly enough but at least it's cooling down a bit. There is actually rain in today's forecast but I'm not counting on it until I see wet. Everything is so dusty everywhere.

Mom has been very full of herself for about the past week. She had another muscle spasm but this one was not as bad as before and it has barely slowed her down. She's bright and cheery and happy and grateful and sending long emails and getting all ready for the tennis season - it's her favorite time of year. She can watch tennis on TV non-stop forever. Tivo it and watch it later. Watch it again. Totally lost on me but amuses her no end.

I need to get my tax returns organized. I have the first return and the second one and I need to make sure I trash the old one and have a copy of the good one and have it together with what it needs to go with and either send it off or put it somewhere with a giant sized reminder. Ditto with the quarterly estimated but I want to set those for electronic transfer. I have the stuff, I just need to study.

And I guess I need to get some long term-ish plans together for the stuff in my house. Sheri has agreed that the first thing we do when she gets back is work up a schedule as well as a budget and then get started again. The first painter she took to the condo for a bid said he could start on March 28. And then he sent in his bid - $8,500 and that did NOT include trim. The second painter came in at $4,000 but can't start 'for a few weeks'.

Next week, when Sheri gets back, the first thing on her agenda will be to work out a budget and the second thing will be to work out a schedule. I'm ok with the painter starting 'in a few weeks' but if that's all we can pin down for now, I also want a date by which we will have a solid paint-start date.

No more squishy dates. No more squishy costs. We are going to do this thing right.

But, meanwhile, I think I'd be wise to plan for 3 or 4 or more months of living out of boxes and I need to get those boxes organized. That's the plan.

My friend, Karen (old office mate) just came by to chit chat and we got carried away and now I need to get my ass in gear and do some web pages... [She also just told me there are a couple of paint places that will sell you tester pots. There will be paint experimenting!]

Wow, painters are expensive. I must live in a cave!! A cave with no paint, obviously.

Sounds like the condo is going to get more on track.
