ahhh the weekend...
Mar. 18th, 2005 05:58 pmJust as I was able to project possibly 7-10 days til I finish my big project at work, I found out that a whole section of the website that I'm converting is not getting canceled after all... so now we're looking at 14-20 days... Oh well. Employment is good.

I stopped at the library on the way home and dropped off some and picked up some. And then on to the news stand where I bought $40 worth of design magazines for my homework assignment. I need to find picture of things to show Sheri what delights me. I did take the mud/mushroom paint chips off the wall. I have the lime paint chip on one wall and the salmon one on another one. They make me smile.

I stopped on the way home and picked up a teryaki beef dinner. I put the salad part in the fridge and it got very cold. My teeth are increasingly unhappy with very cold. I think we are only a few months away from a major dental crisis. I'm grateful for every day that I can chew.

There's a Mariner game on TV tomorrow. Nice!

And I think there needs to be some walking tomorrow and/or Sunday. It's supposed to rain but I am fairly sure I will not dissolve.
Oh and I have some organization of stuff - mainly stuff in my bedroom closet. I need to pack up a bunch of stuff that's there now to make room for stuff I need access to.

And that's the excitement here.

Date: 2005-03-20 08:11 am (UTC)I share your dental clinic fear. Sadly, I am related to a dentist--I have one for an aunt, and my sister is her practice manager, so I have to go, no matter what, or they bring the old equipment to me. But they take good care of me when I go in, put topical numbing stuff on my gums to do a cleaning so it doesn't tickle so badly, and if I'm really havning an anxious day, they'll bust out the laughing gas so I don't freak. When I had to have a major thing done (tooth removal) that was going to make me have to stay a while, and I get worse the longer I'm there, they just made me get a ride and gave me a scrip for a tranquilizer to take an hour before I went in so I was all kinds of mellow when I got there and the procedure was no problem. If you talk to your dentist about the anxiety, they'll work with you and find a way to make you the most comfortable you can be. If they are a good dentist, they will, anyhow.
I only go, to be honest, because I found out that the gums and the heart are made out of the same kind of tissue, so if you get gum disease, it can affect your heart in a big way, and I don't want to check out early cuz I don't like the dentist.
Anyhow, if your toothpaste is tartar control, switch to a kind that isn't and see if it helps, and talk to your dentist--it may help. ANd if it doesn't, talk to a different dentist.

Date: 2005-03-20 05:31 pm (UTC)I thought about it long and hard and over several years and each time I come out with the decision that says I'm willing to take the consequences of my non-action. It's in line with many of my other life decisions and one that I am mostly very comfortable with.
But, I know it's asking for trouble and there's no telling when the trouble will strike.
I do, however, NOT use any tartar control toothpaste or anything that is abraisive in any way. I stick to Colgate Sensitive toothpaste or Sensydine (sp?) and have for years. But, I am old and my teeth are probably just wearing down... in my perverted mind, I just think they need more plaque for insulation (do NOT tell your Aunt or sister that!).
