Day... the last
Jan. 12th, 2012 08:41 amI think the MGM Grand and I are going to get a divorce. Last year everything about it was splendid. And, mainly, all of the people from the floor sweepers on up were marvelous. This year, I must have thought 42 times an hour 'for this I am paying these big $$??!!' and I found the workers barely civil. The floor sweepers and room cleaners were still bright and cheery but everyone else was pretty much fuckyouverymuch.
And the internet connection was just inexcusable. And cellphone reception horrible.
I got an email this morning that I could check out via my 'computer or pda'. Hilariously, I did not see it until I got away from the hotel because I could not get an internet connection there.
It's time to find a new place. I want something with fabulous wifi, good cell reception, clean sheets, mold free shower and easy access to both the convention center and the Venetian. It actually might be the Venetian... I need to do some research.
This morning I got up and got my shit together and left it at the bell desk and came on over to the convention center. No lines at the monorail which was heaven. The doors don't even open for an hour and a half but, the cell reception, here in the lobby of the North hall is good and so I'm using the cellphone as a modem and it's sure better than the internet availability at the hotel!
But, here, it's warm and nice and I have plenty of time to figure out what I want to devote my last hour and a half to. I need to head back to the monorail about 11:45.
