Almost heading home
Jan. 12th, 2012 11:51 amTurns out, after the first day, CES opens at 9 am and that is absolutely the time to go. Wow. The building I could not get into on Tuesday because it was so crowded, I sailed right into and through this morning.
It is nearly criminal what they did to this poor little Smart Car. Tricked out to death.

I was waltzing through a set of exhibits - really really cool fun stuff but it was all geared to Apple shit. iPhones and iPads but it was so cool. Finally I looked up and there was a giant sign over the whole section... I was in the iLounge. Doh.
I got my fill. It was wonderful but I'm done. I toyed with the idea of taking the road back to the hotel but couldn't find a sidewalk. So hopped on the monorail instead.
The rest of the MGM Grand story took a bit of an uptick. The email that I could not read this morning had a phone number to call if I needed service. I called it and got a recording that this was not a valid MGM Grand number (WTF???) but then it rang through and someone answered. I told her I wanted to check out and she handled the whole thing quickly, easily and cheerfully - even giving me my balance. And, within 5 minutes of my hanging up, I had a copy of my entire detailed bill in my email. Nice.
I have 45 minutes to kill until the shuttle bus to the airport. Then, at the airport, I'll have another couple of hours to destroy but I can get lunch and, if memory serves, the airport has nice wifi and outlets for charging.
I'm ready to be home. It's been a fun trip but I'm ready to be home.
