I have been pretty lucky finding stuff in my packed up boxes. I threw out so much and was not as anal as I should be in the box packing... I mean if a box had space in it, I just wandered into the next room and got stuff. And, of course, no box is marked. But, until tonight, it hasn't been too inconvenient.

Remember the letter to the IRS that I had to write as a result of their 'examination' of my 2003 return? It turned out to be a fat packet of documentation to show what turned out to be mostly investment losses. And I cannot find my copy. I remember taking the original to the post office and I know I got home with it. I remember it was on the desk for a long time but it has not turned up with the other tax stuff or the stuff from 2004 taxes, or the other stuff from the desk. if I had to, I could likely recreate all of it, but it bothers me that I can't find my copy. I don't really need it, I'd just feel better if I knew where it was.

I looked for it to see what the original said about the chain of events. I had to submit the letter by the 15th of March and then I think it said that if I owed taxes, I'd get a bill in about 6 weeks but I can't remember for sure. It just bugs me.

Hmmmmm...does any of this help you? Re-reading that post?

I'm thinking perhaps the copy you need is near the box you found the Staplerin? Or close by?

Or wait, I know!

Close to your "thank you card" from George and Laura?

(hope you find it)

"The taxes are done. And it wasn't easy. Since I had two versions from the CPA, just sorting out that was a bit of a whistle. But it's done. The good version is in the envelope with the goods and a check.

I found the checkbook - that wasn't the hard part. Finding a stapler was very tricky. I know I must have packed 57 of them. But, one bubbled up and I stapled and put everything in the envelope. No clue as to how much postage so sometime in the next 4 weeks, I need to waddle down to the post office and get this puppied weighed and stamped.

Then, because I am a good doobie, I logged onto the EFTS thing and set up all my estimated payments. Now, my bank account will be automagically debited in April, June, September and January. The EFTS is such a government operation, it's so funny. Setting it up is much like giving yourself a root canal. Using it is a lot like giving yourself another one. But, it's done.

Then, for good measure, I set up an email reminder - 2 days before each withdrawal, I'll get an email reminding me that I'll soon be way poorer and to make sure the $$ is in the account.

I am a good citizen. George and Laura had better fucking send me a thank you note.

And, we have rain. Finally. I even got a little hail coming home from work. My Crocs with holes enabled my socks to get wet and I didn't mind a bit! "
