I'm still kind of on the fence about going to CES next year (if my going alone is my option) but... I'm catching up on CES podcasts and I know that if, next year, I only 'go' via pod and newscasts, I will be be so pissed I didn't go... I have a few months to decide :)

It's great if you have a geek friend (or, in my case, my brother) to go with so you can play 'oh look at that!!!' Not quite as much fun going it alone. But, likely my view will change as it comes times to make plans for next year. I'll probably go anyway.
