I hate graphics

susandennisToday has been the kind of day where I would have been better off just finding a brick wall and beating my head against it.
It started off with this guy from customer services coming over and telling me that he needs a secure extranet website for use with a customer tomorrow. You know, there's only so much I can do... replicating a domain name throughout the internet on his time frame just ain't one of them. So I killed three hours setting up a very poor alternative. Then he told me that he needs to be able to add files. He doesn't know shit about websites and my work around is on our public website and no way am I letting him touch that. So he's going to call me at 4 a.m. when he knows exactly what he needs. How very swell of him. And, of course, all of this was couched in tems of how I should feel sorry for him because he had this problem and we all have to pull together to serve the customer. My view was that if he had properly anticipated this problem (which nearly any fool could have seen coming a long way back), I could have had a very nice solution for him. GRRRRR
And then the graphics. We have a new logo. It looks wonderful. BUT, all I know about graphics is that print graphics and digital graphics don't mix, don't act alike, aren't interchangeable and are a giant headache for moi. The designer is a print guy who knows how to deal with printer people. I am a worker bee who knows how to deal with Word and HTML. The digital options he gives me to work with do not even come close to looking like what he produces or what I need. He doesn't understand what I need. I'm not smart enough to give him the information he needs to understand. I'm soooo frustrated.
And, the Mariners are losing.... Where in the heck is that brick wall....
