Today looks blessedly boring. At least as far as I can see into it today. I have my swim class and then my weekly work conference call. And that's it so far. Nice.

One thing I think I am going to start research on today is cataract surgery. My vision has deteriorated in the past few months. There's a clock at the pool that was easy to see last fall and now not nearly so easy. I really need my glasses way more than I used to. Last year, no glasses, I used to be able to prop my phone up on the dining table and read it easily. Now I can't even read the Fire tablet that easily from that far.

Plus, I've already cleared my insurance deductible. So it seems like a good idea. The clinic where my cute doctor is has an ophthalmologist who's webpage says she does cataract surgery so I'll start there. I went to her several years ago and was not impressed but that was for glasses/contact lenses and I should have been going to an optometrist anyway. I like the idea of staying in the clinic for stuff - billing/etc wise.

My insurance for glasses/lenses vision check does not kick in again until May 1 so I probably won't do anything serious til then so I won't have to worry about the possibles. But today I'll make the initial call to find out what the first step will be.

It's weird to have the computers in different places. Several times I've sat down at the desktop and really felt disoriented about working on it. Usually my mind is rock solid about what is on which computer and what each's proclivities are but now that they are in different places my mind is all confused. I do not like it. BUT, it will be that way for at least another month and it will get worse before it gets better so I need to get off my tuffet and deal.

Now I think I'm going to get off my tuffet and get another cup of coffee.

Your doc will have to see if the cataract is ripe enough to be removed. It is a piece of cake though. My mom had it and all she had to do was put drops in for a few days afterward. Oh yeah, she also had to wear those weird sunglasses. You'll have to arrange to have someone drive you there and back and then again for the recheck. Sux about the swimming though.

I'll be following your cataract story. I hope you document it in detail. I think I'm going to be up for it one of these days as I've noticed my eyesight deteriorating also. I've always been a bit leary of anyone touching or doing anything to my eyes, but most I've talked to about it say it really is nothing to be afraid of.
