This and That so far in March!
Mar. 1st, 2012 08:28 amI just noticed a new icon above the edit window on the LJ web page for Post an Entry. It's in between the image icon and the arrow for embedding content. When I click on it, it tells me that I need to upgrade my account to get the function. When I follow the link to upgrade, it takes me to the page that says my account is permanent and never expires. No upgrade is available.
Nice to have a little mystery in my life, I guess.
I ended up taking out last night's frustration on Amazon with two reports of OnTrac's latest failings. Over the past few years whenever these idiots do not deliver a package or leave it in the wrong place, I have complained. Amazon's reply is always 'we will pass your feedback on to OnTrac'. Last night's note was 'Amazon needs to take responsibility for this vendor who consistently does NOT deliver on time...' And, in fact, this morning, their reply was that they had sent my complaint on to Amazon's department in charge.
I'm not so impressed that they are actually going to do anything to fix the problem but I am again very impressed that they actually read the words and at least reply accordingly. Nice. I so want them to fix this before October when my Prime membership is up for renewal. I want to renew. I just don't want to deal with OnTrac.
It is so wonderful to have new space in my living room. I love it.
This morning I sent Scott, the building manager a note apologizing for last night but also if he had a preference for either of the two recommended junk hauling companies. His reply was that he did not but that some of the guys who work for the management company were looking for odd jobs and he offered to ask them. This would be great cause then he would help ensure it goes smoothly this time.
So things are looking better.
Also finally this morning I can see that my old Simple Plan (401kish deal that I had through work) funds finally got transferred from Wells Fargo to Ameriprise. Those Wells Fargo jerks charged me $95 'closing fee'. I was not surprised and was grateful it wasn't more. I don't know where the new 401k will be set up and it will probably be there so I'm not holding my See Ya Sucka party just yet.
I have some work work to do this morning and swim class at noon and that's about it as far as I know now...
Tomorrow is the first broadcast game of the baseball year (yeah, I count Spring Training...) AND I have a ticket tomorrow night to see Fran Liebowitz talk and be interviewed by Dan Savage. That should be very interesting...

Date: 2012-03-01 08:21 pm (UTC)I've been using the Post an Entry button for a few weeks, it works fine, and even has an RTF-like entry option (which allows bold, ital, etc.). Maybe the browser cache needs cleaning?

Date: 2012-03-01 09:27 pm (UTC)The OnTrac thing just so sucks. I'd be happy if they just gave me an option at checkout "your 2 day delivery (which will likely be 3 -5 days anyway) will be OnTrac, wanna switch to 3-5 day and avoid the hassle?"
I've never had them use OnTrac with the 3-5 day option. I'm torn between always using that or just gather up more instances of OnTrac fail that I can send them in hopes that one day they will dump the service.
