Breathing

I was at a stoplight the other day watching a guy walk across the street. He had a gait that says at some point he had to relearn how to walk. I have no idea how to walk. My body does that for me.

Breathing used to be the same way for me. It still is a lot of the time. But sometimes I am so aware of how hard it is to breathe without thinking about it.

Some days when it is hard to breathe, I really don't notice it because I don't go anywhere. Yesterday I had no trouble at the pool but I did notice that I had very little voice all day. And when it came time for my evening outing, not a whole lot of breath either.

It wasn't that far or too arduous a trip. I walked the .2 of a mile to the bus tunnel and then a couple of blocks to dinner and another block to the theater. Then back to the bus and back home. It did not help that I wore shoes that were not that comfortable but by the time I got home I was spent. Done.

I had a very good night's sleep and I'm ready for swim class but I'm not sure how much else. I don't think I'll make the trip to the Sewing Expo. It's too far away. I think I'll just go find brunch after swimming and then come on home and spend the day with easy breathing.

I'm so lucky that being home just piddling around is what I love to do most of all.

It's what I love most, too. (Well, one of my mosts.)

How did Dan 'n' Fran go, anyway?

I wondered, too. Glad it was, at least, interesting.

Being home piddling around is the best thing ever.
