During the Summer there is generally a baseball game on TV every night and this keeps my knitting projects covered and me entertained. But the Mariners were off yesterday and played an afternoon game today so I had two baseball free nights in a row.
Last night I watched the first four episodes of Gay Weddings. They are following four couples - two lesbian couples and two gay couples around as they plan their weddings. Only one out of the four couples are really too obnoxious to watch and the rest are all kind of interesting - nice people and fun to watch.
Then last night I also watched the new Caroline Rhea show. Now. I was a big Rosie fan the first couple of years. The next couple, I followed along out of habit. The last two... I taped most of them and fast forwarded through most of them. When Charoline Rhea substituted for Rosie, I was underwhelmed (I really wanted Katie Couric to give up her bascillion dollar Today Show job and take over Rosie's show). Anyway... I watched the first Caroline Rhea show yesterday and it was pretty sad.
I have no clue why I watched the second one tonight but it turned out to be her first 'live' show and it didn't suck at all. What a nice surprise! I like seeing who's on Broadway and who's staring in what movie and what TV show but I can't stand any of the late night guys - except Jon Stewart and he doesn't really count (please don't tell him I said that he's already got a complex about being on cable).
So... tomorrow there is no game and there are the final Gay Wedding episodes and another Caroline Rhea.

Date: 2002-09-05 04:06 pm (UTC)The first episode with Jon Stewart, I still felt the same way, but as he got less nervous, I found myself liking him twice as much as Craig. Somehow, he just fits so much better. And I agree with you, I can't stand any of the late night shows. If I'm up late, I'm usually watching reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond or National Geographic. I'm not much for tv anyway and if I'm going to sit in front of it, I want to be entertained, educated, enlightened but not annoyed.
How's the habit-kicking going? Still ok?

Date: 2002-09-05 05:32 pm (UTC)The habit kicking thing is going amazingly well. I still have flashes of really wanting a cigarette but it flashes and then goes away. And they aren't nearly as frequent as they were a week ago. From what I've read the nicotine should be gone by this coming Sunday. I think this is easier than it should be...
