I asked Sheri to spend some quality time with her vendors and 1) nail down a schedule 2) explain to them that sticking to it is important and 3) let me know and monitor constantly for changes.

I'm not sure how much good my asking her to do it will do - it seems to have had ZERO effect so far... But, I did get a note from her tonight with a credible update.

Jeff, the handy man (installing plus fixing the odd plumbing issue) now says he needs two full days by himself. So he gets Monday and Tuesday. The cabinet maker has kind of promised the rest of his pieces on Monday. Sheri promised she'd stay on his ass this weekend and get him to commit. Then on Wednesday, the electrician will finish. The electrician is as slippery as the rest so who the fuck knows.

So now we're looking to be finished by 5 pm Wednesday with all workers gone. Wednesday is my 63rd birthday. Getting to the end of this would be a wonderful birthday present.

Meanwhile this afternoon, I've restored a little order at least in the kitchen and some of the living room. The boxes and organizers I bought today are stacked in the hall.

I might stay home and make my own breakfast tomorrow and get some stuff into those things. Or I might go to someplace fast and then come home and do it. Or I might just take the day off and do nothing. (Except when I go into the bedroom, seeing all the shit around makes me nuts so probably not nothing.)

Tonight, however, is going to be TV watching and bear knitting.

Juggling so many different people involved in the same job would be difficult, but I think staying on top of it would be helpful. May it all be done by your birthday because that would be something to celebrate!
