The Saturday Report

We had to shift my bed yesterday for the painter. So it's out in the middle of the room and with no headboard, reading in bed (which I do every night and on Saturday and Sunday mornings) is a bit of an issue. Oh and the reading light is on the wall over where the bed used to be. So this morning I got up and got my coffee and the newspaper and a floor lamp from the living room and a board to use as a kind of head board. I can live with this for 2 weeks, I think.

Then it was on to Costco. The new store is very big and VERY brightly lit which is more disconcerting than the rest of it, oddly. It didn't appear to me as if there was a whole lot more (different) merchandise. I got my meat and wandered around a bit. Then it was on to the grocery store where I picked up other stuff to eat. And home.

I ordered another Tivo. I got one of the reconditioned 40 hour jobs for $50 (after rebate). I'd really love to put it in the bedroom and have the two Series 2's networked so that I could see, in the living room, what is on the bedroom one. But, so far - and I've killed a lot of today trying - I have not been able to get the damn thing connected.

I have two different wireless adapters. I have simplified my network down as far as I can. Tivo can see it - it offers my network up as an option but then when I try to connect it says there is no network. The lying fucker. It's really pissing me off.

I need to make some more puzzles and add them to the page. My puzzle people are getting restless.

And that's the action here. So far. Well, the Mariners are losing but it's only the 4th inning so it doesn't count yet.

How was the crowd? I want to go down there, but am not too excited about braving crowds.

No crowds at all. I got there at 9:40 this morning and there were a lot of people but it wasn't crowded and when I got ready to check out, one of the checkers beckoned me over and I waited 0 mins.

You interested in selling the recon'd 40 after you get the new Series 2?

Actually, the new one is a reconditioned one, too! If I can get it working on the network, I'll keep it. If I can't but I can get the new one hooked up, I might sell it and buy another reconditioned one that I can network. But, it's really not worth that much. It has no subscription and maybe the network piece doesn't even work! You'll get all the details, of course!
