So Dinah wanted to skip painting tomorrow for a couple of really good reasons and I was just as happy to have a night of hauling canceled. 

But then my evening got eaten up with computer issues.  Turns out in moving my computer out of the way, one of my external harddrives came unhooked.  This is 80GBs of stuff collected over about 3 years and I can't get to it.  XP won't install it - or USB it.  It is only a drive in a sleeve with power and a USB port.  The power works.  So it's either the casing, the drive or the plug.  I'm betting the drive which would really suck.  I spent a long time trying to coax it back to life with no luck.  I'll try again tomorrow.

It has the web cam software on it so no cams but since no painting nothing much to watch anyway.  

Before I forget... Happy Birthday tomorrow to geordie. May he find gaggles of women clamoring to hear him talk engineering!  (You may live this down but it will be a while...)

I checked your webcams anyway, Susan, they are showing pics as at 5.26pm so I get some idea of the bedlam. I should do this more often.

Yeah, 5:26 is about when I rebooted and the problem surfaced. No webcams until this weekend I'm afraid. But, you aren't missing a thing. All the workers so far have been women!

Oh it's hardly the first dumb thing I've said, I view them all as "part of life's rich patina" as one of our priests used to say. It's not like I'm a stupid statement virgin, I'm quite comfortable with the whole process now.
