Remind me...
Apr. 15th, 2005 06:52 pmIf I ever criticize my credit union again, be sure to remind me what they did for me today. I set up EFTS for my quarterly taxes. Today was the day that the first payment would be sucked out. I made sure the correct amount was in my checking account. I checked mid-day and the IRS had been there and gotten their $. I was relieved.
Then I got home and found a message on my answering machine.
It was from Connie in accounting at the credit union. She said that she had seen the request come in from the IRS and saw that I didn't have enough money in my savings account so she paid it out of my checking account. She said this was really something she could only do one time.
I had totally forgotten that I had set up savings instead of checking for the IRS. When I did it, I didn't think it mattered because my plan was to keep all the money in savings anyway - this was before I found out about the 6 transfer limit. Holey moley. Can you imagine if they payment had been rejected? Those dudes would have come after me for sure.
I called Connie when I got home and got her voice mail and left her a major THANK YOU!
